Meet Vince.

What I do

I’m an educator, curator, and speaker specializing in LGBTQ+ history as public, participatory experience.

I research deeply—drawing from academic scholarship, primary sources, and lived narratives—and translate that work into:

  • Public history exhibits that translate complex research into lived, physical encounters
  • Speaking engagements that connect historical insight to present-day responsibility
  • Curated learning experiences that invite participation, reflection, and conversation

But more than that, I design environments where people can locate themselves inside history. Not as observers; as participants.

Why LGBTQ+ History Matters More Than Ever

Much of LGBTQ+ history is presented as trivia, mythology, or flattened narrative—stories repeated because they feel true, not because they are.

The way we understand identity—gender, sexuality, even the body itself—is not fixed. They’re evolving frameworks. It is constructed, contested, and constantly changing. And history gives us access to those changes.

It shows us:

  • that what feels “natural” is often recent
  • that what feels “new” is often very old
  • and that the boundaries we live within were built—and can be rebuilt

This is not abstract! It shapes how people live, organize, and imagine what is possible.

What It Feels Like to Encounter This Work

People don’t walk away with a list of facts. They walk away with:

  • a sense of connection to people they’ve never met
  • language for things they’ve felt but couldn’t name
  • a clearer understanding of the present
  • and, often, a renewed sense of responsibility

“I had no idea” is common. What matters more is what comes after.

I’m an educator by training and a curator by practice.

My work draws from academic research, primary sources, and lived experience—but it is built for public audiences.

I’ve presented at conferences, partnered with institutions, and developed exhibits that meet people where they are—without lowering the standard of truth.

Because people are capable of more than we often give them credit for.
